Our Story

Rivertowne Pizza and Deli is a traditional, family-owned and operated New York Style Pizzeria opened in the winter of 2018. Tucked away off of Highway 41 in Mount Pleasant, our goal will always be to provide authentic food in a warm and friendly atmosphere. 

To ensure that we sell only the highest quality products, every morning we start the day by hand cutting and rolling our pizza dough, freshly grating our cheese blend, cooking our marinara sauce, and rolling and baking our Italian rolls. It is a long and tedious process but we feel it is more than worth it in the end.

All recipes have been developed by the owner Ryan over his nearly twenty years in the pizza industry. Born and raised in an Italian area of upstate New York, he worked in pizzerias across the state learning and eating as he went. Over the years he collected recipes, learned how to make traditional dough and bread, and brought this knowledge down to Charleston in 2013. 

With the hopes of one day owning a neighborhood pizzeria like the ones he grew up with,  he opened Rivertowne Pizza and Deli in 2018. The goal from day one has been, and will continue to be, to provide that same traditional New York pizzeria feel.

A special thanks go out to Patti and Barry who have provided all the love and support any son could ever ask for and Jake for getting me my first job in a pizzeria all those years ago!
